Welcome to my new website design! After researching and thinking and researching and thinking some more, I finally made decisions and hit the “update” button.
I’m not sure why it took so long. I seemed to always have an excuse: new writing assignment, fast approaching trip, large project at work, or even a broken ankle. But the redesign was on my mind…frequently. I had created a scenario, however, where I could not move on the website makeover unless conditions were perfect. I wanted to give it my full attention.
Well…”perfect” never came.
Orchestrating life proved well out of my control. Shocking. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). When sensing the promptings to begin something new, I’ve discovered the need to respond. It’s those things that never leave your brain. When all is quiet, they return to your thoughts.
There comes a time when you just have to take the first step.
For me, the first step was making the final decision on how I wanted the site to look. Then the rest of the journey began coming together. I was already on the path. My travel companions helped blaze the new trail. My family reviewed design elements with me. The folks at WP Blogsites helped me with the technical stuff. The expertise and creativity of their designers and developers (especially Kim, Jody, and Eddie) put my website design vision into action.
My blog posts now live with the Bookshelf and Publications under the Writing tab. The Speaker page is an online reference for folks seeking someone for their next event.
I also created a space to share my love for travel. My Flickr account has more than 30K photos. Really. In addition to sharing my written musings, I share travel photos here. Come on over and visit my Photo Gallery. I also share my pictures and pictures of fellow travelers on Instagram.
My writing journey is taking on new adventures. I recently signed with a literary agency, The Steve Laube Agency, for their guidance and representation as I pursue publication of my non-fiction manuscript. I’m excited for the possibilities! I published my first book, Soul Motive to Pray, through the self-publishing arm of Amazon. That was fun but I now look forward to navigating the waters of traditional publishing.
I would love to share regular updates with you. If you sign up in the link here or in the form below, you’ll receive an email when I add to the blog (about weekly) as well as the monthly eLetter, Soul Motive.
Special Bonus: You’ll also receive the free download, Serving Your Community, filled with ideas to reach out to your neighborhood.
Love the new look!
Thanks, Christina! It’s been fun playing around with a more simple and clean design.
