Integrated living reduces stress and isolation.
When we allow one of the “compartments” of life to expand and to become a walled fortress, we create unhealthy isolation. Even church can become a walled fortress. As believers in Jesus, our faith is our core and should motivate our choices and practices.
Be sure to look beyond the walls of your church building, beyond the front door of your home, and beyond the edges of your desk to be a faithful presence in all your places! We live and work and worship in places with real hurts and real needs.
Above all else, know that you are a child of the Living God. Being a faithful presence of God’s grace in all places integrates your beliefs throughout the “whole tray” of life.
Seek to blend your faith and life and work and family today.
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.
May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 5:23)
Many thanks to the High Calling ministry for their video!
Think I need to “de-compartment” my life, Sharon. Thanks for the thought provoking message.
Great term…”de-compartmentalize”! :-) Thanks for joining in the conversation!
Wise thoughts — and some I struggle with. As a writer, I find myself secluded (which I love) and consider that my ministry. God has been speaking to me about a ministry “beyond the desk.” I’m stepping out–by faith in Christ!
Many blessings upon you, Pamela, as you go! I completely understand that it may not be comfortable. But as the Lord prompts, I trust that He will provide and encourage. :-)
