Microloans are changing the world… one person at a time.
In September 2011, Pastor Rob gave cash in envelopes as part of the sermon. Rob challenged us to go out and use the money for God’s Kingdom. No more guidance or restrictions given.
Combining our envelope money, our family received $30. We discussed what to do and prayed how best to use the money. And, we thought. And, we considered the many ministries CPC partners with both locally and globally.
We decided to do something new.
We added $20 out of our family budget and decided to make a microfinance loan of $50. Microfinancing allows impoverished men and women to receive funds to start or to expand a personal business. The loans are interest-free and have a generous re-payment plan. These loans are making the difference between life and death for some families.
We invested in Aba from central Ghana. She requested a loan to expand her food sales business. Aba is a single mom with six children…
