The Story of a Christmas Party

Will the celebration overlook the Child?

Will the celebration overlook the Child?

I recent came upon a compelling story…

A family decided to splurge on a massive birthday party for their soon to be one-year-old child. They invited all their neighbors, friends from work, and family members.

They cleaned, straightened, decorated and baked for many days leading up to the party. Many people rsvp’d and everyone was excited about the big day!

The day arrived. People started arriving. The family hired a neighbor boy to assist with parking the cars. Many neighbors offered their driveways to help out. As the people came into the house, the stack of presents was overwhelming. Guests consumed snacks and drinks. Lots of snacks and drinks.

Everyone was having a wonderful time and the party was a huge success.

Finally, the time came to bring out the beautiful one-year-old child.

But wait, where was he?

They looked in his room and all around the house but they could not find him. After nearly an hour of looking for the child, some of the guests went to get their coats to look outside.

As they gathered their coats that were laying on the bed, they heard a sound and lo and behold, there was the baby, lying on the bed, covered with coats from the attendees.

What just happened?

Lost in all the preparations, the excitement, the good food and drink, and the gifts, was the reason for the party… THE CHILD.

The Real Story

This Christmas… may we not forget the reason for the parties and the gifts.

Welcome to the celebration of the birth  of Jesus!
