Where is your bookworm chewing?

IMG_2757
I love to read.

A perfect day (or even just an afternoon) includes a cup of hot English Breakfast tea, a quiet piece of the planet, and a book. When reading non-fiction, though, I also need a pencil. Interacting with the author in the book’s margins is a vital part of the process for me.

I am very happy with a lovely novel or with a tome steeped in controversial theological premises. Jan Karon’s Mitford series warmed my heart while the dragon tattoo girl’s discoveries made my skin crawl. Bonhoeffer’s words challenge me (dictionary needed, please), Bill  Hybels and Zig Ziglar inspire me, and St. Augustine and Brother Lawrence mentor me.

How ever you digest the words … a paper book, Kindle, Nook, or iPad… may I encourage you to feast away!

I am in the middle of a new George R.R. Martin novel. But it got a bit slow and lost my attention, so I started Ken Eldred’s The Integrated Life. I’ll tell you how it goes.

Need something to read? Check out my bookshelf for a new title.

So, where is your bookmark today?

I sort of gave up on the new George R.R. Martin book myself. He just couldn’t keep the ball rolling smoothly this time.

So true! I really want to know who ends up on the throne in Westeros, though. So I expect I’ll get myself back into the book eventually!
