Philadelphia Mission 2010 packing…

Commence packing… our advance crew departs tomorrow for the Philly short-term mission. They’ll take all of our bags, so everyone on the team is luggage-focused today. Work clothes, shoes, deodorant (very nice for community life), flashlights and more are being dumped/arranged/shoved into soft-sided suitcases.

I’m grateful for our church trailer. In pre-trailer days, the actual loading up consumed vast amounts of time puzzling each piece of luggage into a vehicle. Tomorrow, we will open the trailer and ask each team member to add their bag. Ahhh… the ease of it all!

At the risk of sounding too churchy… I’m hopeful that everyone will also be bringing open hearts. The Lord moves powerfully when we His people humble ourselves to His direction. My prayer today is that each team member be sensitive to the movement of the Holy Spirit in his or her heart and in those around them!

Check back regularly! I’m hoping to post updates during our mission week.
