Life under Construction

I spent some quality time with Rt. 495 last week. It’s been awhile since I’ve travelled on the beltway. I couldn’t help but gawk at the Tyson’s Corner construction of the new Silver Metro line. Concrete pillars, rebar, yellow construction vehicles, overhead cables, and many many workers swarmed in seeming chaos. But there must be someone in charge! Indeed, a knowledgeable engineer knows the whole plan and directs the daily operations.

Our lives too are under construction. The journey can be chaotic and seem purposeless. However, I take great comfort knowing that the Lord is present! He is the Engineer. His plan is perfect even when unseen. I will try, therefore, to be focused on my small part of eternity today … and not be concerned about what tomorrow or the next day holds!
